These pieces were a response to the quarantine period during the pandemic of 2020. The lockdown period allowed me to appreciate the ongoing conundrum of being comfortably uncomfortable—especially within ones skin.
The often unglorified hole of excretion is shown in all its glory through the body of a flower. Showing the parallels and differences between the beautifully regal genitalia of plants (the flower) and the shamed anus of man.
The body is beautiful even when it's ugly.
